Bottle sleeve

Bottle sleeve – a clever trick to make original vases and why not a candle holder out of bottles and jars.

• Assemble a suitable family of bottles and jars of different shapes and sizes and knit them sleeves or rather jackets to wear.

• Knit on five needles, just like you would knit a sock or a sleeve.

• Measure the circumference of a bottle and with the help of a small test piece, calculate the number of stitches needed.
• Divide this between the four needles and knit a pattern to your liking up to the neck of the bottle.
• Try the sleeve on the bottle and start decreasing the stitches according to the shape of the bottle.

• Use different patterns and/or different yarns. Knit one or more different sets of sleeves that can be combined. Change them according to your mood!

• Or, if you like crocheting more than knitting, you can crochet the sleeves.
