Suitable for children from 10 years of age

* 20 rubber bands

How to tie-dye
Before you start make sure your work surface is covered with bin liners/plastic sheeting (not provided) as the dye will stain surfaces and materials. You should also wear gloves *not provided(, fill up your dye bottles with water to the top of the label. And shake for 60 seconds. fill a bucket with one gallon of water. Add the soda ash and mix until dissolved. Pre-soak your fabric in the soda water for 20 mins before applying the dyes.

Spiral technique
Lay your accessory flat and decide where you want the swirl to start. Pinch the fabric at this point and twist the fabric around into a flat spiral.
Bind using the rubber bands, make a cross with two bands (vertical), and another cross over the top (horizontal) making & wedge shapes.
Put on your protective gloves, choose which color dye you want to use first, and apply this to your chosen wedge shape. Alternate colors until you have dyed all the fabric.
Use plastic wrap (not provided) to cover and keep moist. Leave to set for at least 6 hours or longer to intensify the colors.
Remove the rubber bands and rinse with warm water to remove any excess dye, until the water runs clear. Leave to dry.
